A Word from the Pastor

A Word from the Pastor

Have you ever heard the hymn "I Love to Tell the Story"? A part of that song say's "I love to tell the story, ’Twill be my theme in glory, To tell the old old story of Jesus and His love."

I want to tell you the story of Jesus and His love. Jesus Christ loved you enough to take your place on the cross. Jesus died for your sins and for mine. The bible tells us "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23

The bible goes on to say "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

We all deserve death, but thank God for His gift of eternal life for those who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. Salvation is a free gift as the scriptures tell us, and it is my belief that salvation is available to all who will call upon the name of the Lord.

Romans 10:9 "
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

If salvation is something you desire, and if you would like to spend eternity in heaven after you die will you pray a prayer in your heart like this.

"Father, I know that I have sinned and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and help me avoid sinning again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, is alive, and hears my prayer. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."

If this is your prayer the bible says that you need to tell others Luke 12:8 "Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God:"  Find a friend and let them know that you just accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour.

If you live in or near Columbus Kansas and would like to come and join our fellowship we would love to have you. If you live too far away to join us find a good bible preaching and believing church and let them know of the life changing event that just occurred in your life. It is important as a new Christian you surround yourself with other Christians to help and encourage you in your new found faith. Also I would encourage you to get a King James Bible and spend time reading God's Word. A good place to start reading is the Gospel of John, it will give you a good understanding of who Jesus is and what His Ministry is about.
